initial tests

Postby dillyau on Sun Nov 30, 2008 7:41 pm

Hi,
I registered yesterday, delighted to find a forum of like projects. I have purchased 16 plates of 1.4mm - 316L Stainless. Only stuff in stock at sheet metal shop. Plates are 120mm x 70mm. I will be shopping for most of the gear this pm. BUT!!!! I could not wait so got a couple of test croc leads, 2 plastic cable ties 2 small pieces of flat plastic sheet as 2 spaces. Clipped a lead on each plate other end on Voltage meter probes, dropped all in a 6"x4" clear take away container with a teaspoon of Soda Bic and touched the probes on a 12 volt Video battery. HEY PRESTO ***** it worked like a demon, boy can they produce the goods. Battery would not last long at this rate so stopped and tried a teaspoon of table salt (Sodium Chloride) That works great too. Colour of mixture turned muddy looking, so stopped. As I use Potassium Hydroxide for my Bio that will be my catalyst initially for the cell. In just a few minutes and to have such positive results is fantastic. The serious stuff begins now. First trial gets 100% from me.
Have not found out how to lodge my profile yet. I have a TOYO Hi- Ace Commuter (camper fitout) 4 Cylinder 2.8Lt Diesel engine with 450,000klm on the clock. Been running on BIO 100% for the past 2 years, brilliant! purpose of HHO interest. Curious about anything! But mainly I want to increase the range of my on board fuel supply which has a range of 650 to 700 klms . Reserve tank would be good but space is at a premium. so HHO should fit the bill nicely. Just turned 70Yrs young and need to watch the cents nowadays so Voila!!
Looking forward to reading posts about other systems and results. Please feel free to post me and ask anything or critique any of my stuff I would appreciate it .

Look forward to some lively forum exchanges. I took a lot of room, sorry, I will be as brief as possible in future.

Regards

Hybrid Water Power

hello there,

I also end up to my final design as of now, I am using an acrylic plastic for my casing bonded with chloroform and i also drilled and fastened it with screws the casing is rectangular in shape H 7inches L 6.5 inches W 4 inches. Thickness of the acrylic plastic is .5 inch, there are two compartment inside big and small. the bigger compartment house my hho generator and the small space for my babbler.
I used a stainless spiral anode and cathode parallel to each other dipped in distilled water with baking soda (for the catalyst).
The magnetic vortex created by the spiral design add up to the production of hho as compared to the flat sheet, not to mention that spiral is much more easy to prepare.

By the way i have one problem, i am in need of a schematic diagram and complete parts list of EFIE (electronic fuel injection enhancer). I want to make one as my project because parts are available from the local electronic shop but i needed a diagram for it. So if you have access for that, i would gladly appreciate it if you can pass it on me.

Thanks and God bless.

regards,

hello,

plate design is ok too. i bought my 1/8inch diameter stainless from our local supplier of stainless accessories for the manufacturers of jeepney. by the way from what country are you sir? I am from the Philippines and stainless steel are easy to find here. but if you really can't find a rod, you can try cutting the stailess plate and make it 1/8 inch by 39 inches you need two of these to make a parallel spiral.

have a good day sir.

yours,

good day,

hi friend how's your spiral project? i hope you don't mind me asking.
cause i don't know why is stainless rod hard to find in your place, if i may ask again what country is your origin? you may not answer it if you don't like.

In your local hardware if i may suggest you can ask for an acetylene rod it is also in 1/8 inch diameter, or if a welding machine is with in your reach you can try buying a stainless welding rod about 3 to 4 of it. You should eliminate the sulfur covering and weld each end to make 4 pieces into single one for your spiral.

have a nice day. let me here from you.

friend,

Hi Elly. I'm responding because I feel your polite comments warrant a polite response. I think Dillyau is in Australia. I must admit that I don't like the idea of spirals, certainly not in a plastic container unless the container is flooded and you are using a header tank with a hydraulic circulation system. Even using low amps the terminals and internal connections will get hot where they are not immersed in the electrolyte. That heat can melt acrylic or even polycarbonate. be careful my friend.

I noticed someone who tried salt as an electrolyte. Don't use it. it can cause an explosion. Very dangerous!

We use NaOH. it keeps things clean and is safe in operation. Our systems come in a variety of sizes which vary from 12 x 8 x 2 in. to 12 x 18 x 3 in. with multiple numbers of plates. We have achieved up to 26 liters per minute HH flows and are running diesel and gasoline engines as well as fuel cells.

All the best,

NOAH works well, but by switching to KOH (potassium Hydroxide) the temps will drop along with the amperage draw. The solution will last a long time without getting murky as long as you are using 316L SS plates. 304L will work well too, but won't last as long.
