Got my book

Postby alecracing on Wed Dec 24, 2008 5:12 pm

150 pages...woah!

I was very sceptical about all of this and probably would not have tried it if I didn't have my school paying for it. I am half way through the book and everything is so well put down with explanations about why everything has to be a certain way. I am very enthusiastic and am already thinking of things to try to make it better. I printed out a couple copies for 2 of my students to read over the holiday (they probably won't). i will get enough supplies to build 3 generators and challenge them to a build-off (challenges get 'em going every time). If they do actually work, I will have my students build some and install them on people's cars to raise money for my Automotive Program. I could have 60 pairs of hands building these things...nice. :P

alecracing,

I'm a systems analyst from the Midwest and 100% new to this site and concept. At this point, I'm just trying to verify that this entire site isn't some elaborate hoax. Your entire thread history seems pretty authentic so I was wondering if you wouldn't mind emailing me independently to make me feel better about all this. I'm also curious how your student challenges have worked out. One of my non-primary emails is visible in my profile, so I think you should be able to email me. If you'd rather just reply in here, that's fine.

First thing tomorrow, I'm going to call around and see if there are mechanics in town that will even entertain the idea of installing such a device. If that's the case, I might just buy one off the shelf instead of try to make my own. I don't even do my own taxes, let alone install something like this on my only car.

Thanks
Veloran

Dear Veloran and Alecracing,
I am very curious about the efficacy of all this, too. I am a high school chem teacher with some students who would love this. Can you reply and let me know what you have been doing with this technology since your posting and if you are using it with your students? I imagine there might be a large insurance liability issue for installers. Just thinking about a NaCl explosion...maybe that is why manufacturers are not on the bandwagon? Please let me know. Thanks.

ttibbits,

Bob Volk's HHO book is very well written and explains the HHO chemistry really well. It would be a great instruction manual on how to "Split" water into Hydrogen and Oxygen. If you're a teacher, this teaches electrolysis and how to make a HHO reactor/generator. Even if you don't use it in a car, it does a great job of showing how it works. I'm not a teacher but I'd recommend it. I've read it many times and I learn more every time I read it. It's 150+ pages so I don't read every word every time. Just pick out the stuff I'm interested in at the time.

It's pretty cool that you can take plain old water (H2O) and make flammable gas out of it. So... Water does burn...?

Don't forget... It has a 60 day money back guarantee so if you decide it's not right for you then just return it.

Veloran

Did you find a mechanic to install this system?
If so how is it working out,
I am leaning towards purchasing the whole kit for about $300 instead of building my own.
thanks
