new here and have a few questions

Postby zccrxsi on Thu Sep 10, 2009 10:18 am

id like to start out by saying im not a scientist and am comlpetely new to this hho thing. i know i decent amount about cars and have built a few turbocharged hondas. i also have pretty good knowledge of electronics as im a certified kia tech and one of my certifications is in electronic diagnostic and repair, i also chipped and tuned my turbo hondas. so with that being said i got the jist of how everything works but i really only have a few questions
whats the best way to prevent a back fire?
i have seen people use another tank with the hydrogen supply hose going into water causing it to bubble and have a hose coming from the top of it sucking it from the tank. is that really a good back fire antidote?
is there a certain voltage/amps for it to work best
or can i just hook it up to a switch and fuse from my battery
im not looking to build a high dollar expensive kit im looking for something cheap yet effective for my 93 astro van
i made my honda crx run a 1/4 mile in under 14sec with only $500 so if i could make this kit for ~$50 ill be happy thank you for any help in advance

yes, that's called a HHO bubbler. The flame can't get through the water as the gas bubbles up throuh it. It's the way everyone is doing it and works very well.

Build it yourself by getting one of the guides. Only Bob Volk's Hybrid Water Power or Punch Dry Cell Plans are the ONLY good ones out there. Way cheaper than buying a kit and you can build mutiple generators to produce more HHO if necessary.

Amps will change depending on how you mix your electrolyte. if you use too much, your amps will go too high and you will create steam. Once you're ready to test, start with a small amount of electrolyte and then add a little at a time. it may take a few tanks of gas to get it right for your vehicle.

You should see fuel gains of 20-60% once it is tuned in.

I am having some questions too? I am new to the site. I am looking to build a kit. Am going to buy the plans soon. But my biggest concern is that when winter comes witch is a few months away how do you guys keeps the water from freezing and still producing HHO? I had an idea of adding some antifreeze to the water but was wondering if that would make the electrolysis not work?

Yes, you're on the right track. Here is a good post on how to keep the electrolyte from freezing:
Keep HHO from Freezing

Usually, people use isopropyl alcohol to keep it from freezing but it really won't work if you're in a climate where it get's -40f or so.

You can also get a heater as well. Wrapping it in a heater will keep it from freezing. Many people simply let it freeze and thaw. They thaw fairly quickly. The only problem is that it won't produce HHO when frozen.
