Looking for Help

Postby dillyau on Tue Dec 02, 2008 8:51 pm

Hi again.

I have bought nearly all the gear to get started on my construction.
I would like some assistance to a few queries about our objectives. I have read so much material and have a sound basic knowledge. My questions I would like assitance with are:-

I have a Toyota 1996 Hi-Ace Commuter (ex 15 seater bus) now a camper. Runs like a dream on Bio 100% and has for the past 2 years.

1. I would like to know what the litre HHO output target should be for all round usage?
2. Is it relative to the engine capacity that determines the target output?
3. Have read much about amperage up in the 40 -50 amp +, what should be a good stable amperage for continous running?
4. At amperages of 30 up to 50 amps. Has this a detrimental effect of the alternators ongoing efficiency?
5 Is a constant high amperage as seen in some installations going to limit the alternators ability to maintain the main engine battery level for reliable motoring?

I am sure I will have many other questions. I would appreciate some assistance if anyone would like to help. I look forward to getting a greater understanding of the basics, the future of all development has the need for a sound undestanding
Boy! I like reading all this information, great people.

Regards

Hi mate.

Your generator should be producing about 1 litre per minute HHO for every 2 litres of engine size. Your HHO need is a minimum of 5% of the air required. Most engines are geared to a 14.7 - 1 air/fuel requirement.
Let's assume that your 2 litre vehicle does 10 miles to the litre of fuel @ 60mph. You would need 140 litres of air and 7 litres of HHO gas in 10 minutes, based on 5% rule. You can see that your generator will produce 10 litres of gas in that time. 5% is the minimum amount to give you worthwhile fuel savings. Questions 1 and 2 are related.

I would suggest you aim to use the lowest amps that you can. Do some tests on the amount of catalyst you need to attain and maintain 15 - 20 amps when hot. If you can control the voltage to as low a figure as you can, you will help to eliminate heat problems which will relate to excessive amperage.

High current drain always creates a problem with the alternator. Not all alternators are equal. You also have to take into account the weather conditions and time of day. If you are driving late at night with the rain beating down, the radio turned up, the air conditioning turned on because it's muggy. You'll be taking a lot of power out of the alternator, add to that a high amp generator! The answer should be staring you in the face. Something has to blow.

Hope this helps.

AHI.

if someone out there is willing to go thru this one step at a time, i will be a willing and faithful servant to learn and install it. i am a disabled veteran on a fixed income, but i have good hands and a dedicated work ethic. i can afford to pay someone a reasonable wage to help me install this, but i can't travel out of florida at this time. so if you are willing to work with me under these conditionns, then contact the webmaster who will put us both in touch with each other. thanking everyone in advance for any help.
