help with HHO generator

Postby al08 on Thu Jan 29, 2009 3:42 am

tHANK YOU FOR RREADING MY REQUEST. I am going to build an HHO generator. Am I correct in thinking
that the efficiency of the cell is in line with the current it draws and not in the number of plates? I would also
be greatful for information on how many cells would be practical in a petrol engined car? I dont want a flat battery trying to gain a slightly cleaner emission. thank you Al
the cell (s) I intend building will be with stainless steel plates with holes in, the size?

Hello Al,

Yes U are rigth...but the quest is to obtain maximum amount of HHO with minimum current (U have around 60Ah in a car batery...) -

U may try with 10 plates . One pozitive, one negative, and so on. The space between plate around 1 mm, if possible.

Some people recomand 1 pozitive - 2 neutral - 1 negative - 2 neutral - 1 pozitive (central electrode must be negative if the electrodes are cylindrical).

First of all, the size of electrodes depend on the housing of the generator. Leave at least 2" (~50 mm) space between the water level and the upper end of the generator - electrodes must be sinked in water (electrolite). It is recomended that the surfaces of the plates not to be very smouth to increase the surface of the electrodes (use sandpaper). Use alcohol to clean the electrodes before sink the electrodes in water.
Regarding the holes - some people didn't recomand to dril the electrodes at least for the negative electrode.

See U on forum... :)

Sorry for my english...

I'm sure it was an oversight that Alex didn't mention that once you have sanded the plates chequer board style, you need to wear rubber gloves when cleaning and fitting the plates. No point in cleaning them and then contaminating them again.

I only know two words in Russian, (I'm being assumptive) they are Dobro Dan, you beat me hands down Alex. Good day to you.
