What else would a co. that sales EFIE & MAP Sensors say but that it's easier and less expensive to buy they're unit on the net as opposed to building a unit. I'm not saying they're without merit hhogear.com gives loads of information on both systems. A friend told me that simply putting an extender on the front 02 sensor would go along way for mpg. Good luck. The EFIE is 66.00 w/ s&h.

took the plans that alexercsie sent me from better mileage.com to radio shack and the parts list came up to more than what i am bidding on one on ebay right now.can anyone tell me if it makes any difference where you wire the efie in between the 02 sensor and computer. :D

I am an electronic engineer and see no problem in assembling a circuit that can feed the 2 electrodes.
My problem is that there must be a ressonance frequency that has the best results.
Does anyone know the value ?

Can we use an amplitude modulation or an envelope ? In that case what is the duty cycle and lower frequency ?

I most definately am not an electronics expert. I thought the EFIE was basically tricking the ECU into accepting that there is less oxygen in the exhaust than there really is. I think that all that needs to happen is for the EFIE unit to send out a slightly stronger electrical current, I think this raises the temperature of the sensor just sufficiently to do the job. I believe the extra is measured in millivolts. I don't think that resonance has much to do with it. I could be wrong and most certainly will not get into an argument about it.

kim, just getting into the efie part myself.i believe it varies from make to make or engine to engine.the dual efies have dual controls city-highway.most of what i have read on the net is set in the middle and tweak one way or the other to fit your engine.better-mileage.com has the plans and some pretty good info on setting it up.not an engineer but hope that helps!! :D

Recently while doing some research on choosing an EFIE to use for my 95 Ford Ranger, I was told by one HHO installer that they were more trouble than they were worth b/c the potentiometers needed to be constantly adjusted. He also told me that I didn't need one b/c my vehicle was an older model w/ a less than sophisticated computer. I find this revelation difficult to believe. What would be the best course of action concerning installing an EFIE into my truck?

i have had an hho generator in my 95 chevy for about 6 mths. now.has more power and runs smoother but gas mileage hasnt increased but maybe 15%.installed 02-standoff the other day and noticed an incretible increase in power.havent checked mileage yet.have been thinking this may be better than trying to keep an efie adjusted all the time. :D

There should be no problem with that assembly actually with 2 electrodes leading to it. What you have to consider though is the frequency you have so that you will get the best results. Not too certain about the value as well.

That depends between motor to motor so you have to be familiar with that on your own, and it should apply to what you have running alone.
