Thanks billhac,
I do have a question or two.
What mixture do you use when using sodium hydroxide? ( AKA Caustic Soda and Lye )
How much chlorine gas is created during electrolysis?
Does this mixture become quite ( dangerously ) caustic or is it just a skin irritant?
Does the mixture keep the plates clean? ( I assume it does for obvious reasons)

I am using 3 cells in +-+-+- (series) with varying amounts of bi- carb, hydrogen peroxide, and distilled water. I can make it very active but I blow 30 amp fuses when I get it too strong and it also generates too much heat.( warped my plastic lids once!) The biggest problem seems to be crudding up my mixture, even in short order or having the same thing happen to my plates. I have switched from radiator anti freeze to cold temp windshield washer anti freeze ( alcohol based) to minimize the negative effects of glycol based products. This appears to have less of a negative affect on HHO production.

I read somewhere that someone was using vinegar in their mixture. Seems pointless to me since the bi carb and vinegar are not compatible, one canceling out the other. Truth be told, I am running out of mixture options. The benefit of what I am using is that there are no dangerous gasses or chemicals being produced but it seems that my output is simply too low to be worthwhile. I have made new rings and re-sealed my fittings to be sure I am not losing gas.

Anyway, have a great and fun day.
Blue.

when i mix in my lye, i do it in 1/2 tsp intervals untill I get the desired amps,(usually around 2 tsps) now the reason for the excesseve heat is the plate configuration, try this, build your plate array and configure the plates in a +nn--nn+ manner and see if that changes your output using what you allready have, the n plates will give you more surface area and keep down the heat, then if thats still not enough output, try putting in some floater plates,( cunnected with the nuts, not n plates that are not connected but isolated with the plastic washers, have fun trying, hope this works but pretty sure it will, the electrolite will turn a little yellow from the lye, and it is only skin irratant, no harmful vapors from it , be sure to use a bubbler, and it will filter any vapor left over, using vinager? I use a very small amount in the bubbler just as a filtering agent, dont know if it realy works, no different results either way

Hi Mitch, i think it is great that the UK gives money back for going green, but what about the States (Fla)? are there any websites or info sources that i can learn from about this? by the way, i have been trying to go green since the first oil criisis in the 70's, but i was like a minnow swimming up a fast-rushing, down-flowing stream.

hi, guys , i realize everyone has different vehicles, thus it leads to applications that vary quite alot ,allways alot harder to get right with newer motors.with newer vehicles i think most of them need at least 1lpm per litre! but i have an old ford transit 2.5 diesel its an 18ft fully kitted out motorhome(rv) so very heavy! i only produce half a litre a minute drawing about 15amps and about 8-9volts off a 30amp pwm ,it went from 27mpg to 50+ mpg logged on a 1200 mile trip ,cell is 2- 6" ss + tubes and2 - inside ,youtube (double barrel hydrogen flux) 4 a visual ,point is older diesels need less lpm,ps ive never been able to get more than half a litre pm in all my experiments ,only using quarter tspn sodium hydroxide in 1 litre of deionized water, anymore than 15 amps just seem to blow my 30amp fuse on pwm(distilled water in uk is not readily available + expensive to order) .Also ive been scouring the net for a year trying to get positive info on how to make same system work on my turbo diesel 2.5 4wd automatic day van ,but with no success wotever no mpg gain on this even tho it has no electronic fuel sensors . Think its to do gas not penetrating turbo pressure...anyone got any clues on this ? Flyingdoc.uk
