hho dicolored

Postby augy on Fri Dec 19, 2008 6:12 pm

Hi ,This is my first post ...I have just made my first 13 plate generator and am thrilled with the output of hho ,The plates are 4in x 6in with a pos-neg-pos negcon figuration. The design borrows a litle bit of all the designs I have seen. The problem is that when I turn it on the sell ,as I stated works great but it emits a blue-green almost foam to the top of the water and the water turns brown,I am using tap water with no electrolyte.Eventuallythe plates become clogged.Easy to wash off but discusting .Ay HELP will be appreciated Thnks...Craig

Hello Craig, Not knowing what the plates are made of and the lack of an electrolyte/catalyst plus the pnpnpn configuration ( also known as a brute force config.) indicates to me a contaminate issue. Are all of the parts of the cell made of the same material ? If not there will be a reaction, The color you describe seems to be a copper sulfied in nature, but with another oxide to give it the color you describe. I do not believe that the tap water itself has that much sediment that it would cause that reaction, I could be wrong ( and I have been wrong more times than I care to admit). Please let me know, thanks

dude ya cant use copper in the electrolyte. it turns the electrolyte blue- green. your wire or something is copper or an aloy. use distilled water with out baking soda as an electrolyte. Tap water has stuff in it that pulls impurities out of stainless steel and it turns the water brown. I'm still experimenting to find the purfect electrolyte. I do know that sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide works alot better than baking soda. CAREFULL. it can burn the shit out of your skin. NO IT WILL BURN TH SHIT OUT OF YOUR SKIN! carefull dude. or gal, use vary little at a time till ya get it right. SAFTY FIRST
